Vivo Energy Uganda Re-launches School Road Safety Initiative

Vivo Energy Uganda has re-launched today its school road safety initiative, “Heads Up, No Helmet, No Boda.” The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a boda boda and to provide helmets to school children who need them.

The initiative was launched at Shimoni Primary School in Kampala, with the participation of Vivo Energy Uganda Managing Director Johan Grobbelaar, State Minister Primary Education; Dr. Joyce Kaducu Moriku, Nsereko Kawuma Rogers Kampala Metropolitan Police Traffic Commander and Shimoni Primary School Head Teacher.

“We are committed to making our roads safer for everyone, especially our children,” said Grobbelaar. “We believe that by providing helmets to school children and raising awareness about road safety, we can help to prevent accidents and save lives.”

The “Heads Up, No Helmet, No boda” initiative is part of Vivo Energy Uganda’s broader CSR commitment to road safety. The company has a number of other road safety initiatives in place, including an ongoing discounted retail sale of helmets at 13 select Shell Uganda fuel stations.

“We believe that everyone has a role to play in making our roads safer,” said Grobbelaar. “We urge all motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists to be mindful of their safety and the safety of others.”

We hope that you will join us in supporting this important initiative. Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.
